This past weekend, we drove out to the Humboldt County Fair and visited with family. This is something my family has done for the past several years and we've recently come on board with it in the past three years. This was also the first time that Daddy got to come with us.
The fair is always just good fun for me. Yes, it's expensive. Yes, I want to pull my hair out by the time my wallet closes. Yes, it's a long day without naps. But Grandma and Great-Grandma are there to help as the day goes along and Grandma always helps financially as well. We just have a great time experiencing all that the fair has to offer through the eyes of a 4 and 2 year old.
Daddy, Lydia, and Noah on their first ride down "The Heights."
The slide earned the name "The Heights" last year when I tried taking Lydia and realized I was too afraid of heights to go any farther. Thus, Mommy is afraid of "The Heights."
Lydia riding the kids' roller coaster.
Noah had to go to the bathroom so she ended up riding by herself.
Brave little girl.

They rode several times without getting off.
My beauty!
Big Boy, Big Smiles!

They do love each other.
This photo was taken near the end of the day,
waiting for their turn in the fun house.
It was Lydia's first time and Noah was very anxious to be the Big Brother and show her all about it.

Lydia finally getting to ride the carousel
Can we tell it's the end of the day?

We had such a good time. It was a stressful day, but we determined early on that we were going to have fun. I still had my moments of meltdown, but all in all, we made it through with good memories and few scares. What a fun way to cap off the final weekend of the summer!
