Hey Creative2xmom gang,
How was your weekend? For those of you with a four day weekend, I hope you're enjoying your Memorial Day. Did you travel or stay home with the family?
Our weekend was broke up. We went down to my in-law's on Friday for my sister-in-law's high school graduation. Yes, high school. Crazy! I have a seventeen year old sister-in-law. So for the past ten years I've been around for major milestones in her life. And now her high school graduation.
A long day of driving and we arrived in time for a BBQ celebrating her and a close friend. The kids ran around with cousins and family. Hubby and I caught up with good family friends and distant relatives. But the highlight of the evening was graduation itself. The kids were antsy, but once they discovered the megaphones and cow bell, ... well, it was all a party from there. Lydia got ahold of the cow bell and ended up cheering for every graduate that crossed that stage.
We spent Saturday with family, took the kids bowling. Church on Sunday and sleeping in for the holiday. I promised the kids waffles this morning and their bouncing out of their seats waiting for them. It's been a full weekend, but it's been fun. I can hardly believe summer's nearly on us. We tested out a new dessert recipe this last week. It was incredible. This Pear and Berry Crisp from Martha Stewart is super yummy. It's a summer twist on the berry crisp that's perfect for a summer BBQ. Hope you like it as much as we did.
