Beth Moore--The Hair Brush

I love Beth Moore.  She just makes me laugh until I cry.

This time, I laughed and then I cried.

Summer Challenge Day #4

What are your summer goals?

I also have goals so it seems strange that I would struggle with this question.  I am a woman of endless to do lists, including our Summer To-Do List that I'm posting later this week.

As for me personally, I guess these are a few things I'll be working on:
*Canning blackberries
*Canning apples
*Finishing our Disneyland scrapbook
*Order and start Christmas ornaments

I'm sure there will be more, but since my list is always longer than my time, that's all I'm committing to right now.

What about you?  What are your summer goals?

Summer Challenge Day #3

A little behind the times, but thought I'd jump in on today's challenge anyways...

What do you think of when you hear the word "Summer?"

Kids running through the sprinklers

Watermelon!

Our Anniversary

Dancing on the lawn

The Farmer's Market

What do makes you think of Summer?

Made by Me Monday

Hey everyone,
How was your weekend?  Has summer arrived in your part of the country?
We had a full weekend with Grandma and Great-Grandma visiting us.  I pulled out some of the recipes I've been bookmarking and we tested them for you.  Including the Good Morning Blueberry Cake I posted a couple of weeks ago.  It was incredible.  So if you plan on having guests at all this summer, copy this one down.  You'll look like a star!
The kids and I also sat down and make a Summer Activities List to make sure we schedule in time for all the things they want to do.  Some of the things Mommy guided (like swim lessons and library reading), Noah picked out a few (kicking the ball and riding bikes), while Lydia had her own ideas with watching Tangled and dancing.  It was fun and really reminded me how they each have their own likes and dislikes.  I'll post a shorter version later this week.
I also put the finishing touches of these Felt Flower Pins.  I was skeptical at first, but they came out pretty cute.  I'll post a tutorial for these later this week as well.

Here's what else is going on in our world:

Our menu this week:
Monday: Taco Salad
Tuesday: Sloppy Joe's, green salad
Wednesday: Easy Pad Thai
Thursday: Orzo with shrimp and veggies
Friday: Blackened Fish, steamed broccoli
Saturday: Date night!
Sunday: Father's Day dinner

Projects I'm tackling this week:
Journaling in Disney album
Flip-flop project
Scrapbook Dec and Jan

2011 Photo Challenge-- Wk 2

Should we get started partying?  Write a blog post highlighting your project with a link back here so that others can join in on the fun.  Then link up below to the blog post itself.  You can post more than one project; just add more than one link.  So let's get started!

Lee's To Do List

Love these ideas for Tahini, Hummus and More (@ Where's My Rolling Pin?).  Great ideas to have on hand when you're entertaining.

Still reading through Is Organic Milk better than Store Milk? (@ Kitchen Stewardship).  In today's economy, it's always nice to know what you're paying for.

I've been needing this Tutorial for How to Make a Light Box (@ The Scrap Shoppe) for some time.  Am I the last one to get on board with this.

Love this DIY Ice Cream in a Jar (@ Style Me Pretty).  Great idea for a party favor.

I wanna make this Garnet Hill Shirt Knockoff (@ Blue Cricket Design).  So pretty and at a fraction of the price.
