Becoming Bea {Review}

Bea, an introverted Youngie, has her life planned out, content to stay at home while her sister runs the business and she works behind the scenes.  No marriage in the future for this girl, particularly not to Ben.  Been there, done that, has the broken heart to prove it.  Until her sister Molly conspires to move the family to Montana, including Bea and their Mother.  Of course, Bea will go along with the plan.

Until she decides she's had enough of her sister's planning and decides to get a job helping a local family with triplets.  Working as a mother's helper, she begins to come out of her shell, enjoying the company of the other Youngie who work there, even Ben's company.  And then Don enters the picture.  Is he interested in her?  What are his motives?  And how does he play into her relationship with Ben?

I've never read anything by Leslie Gould and this was a sweet treat.  Yes, it was an Amish romance, but I appreciated how much of the story revolved around Bea and finding out who she was aside from the romance element. Here is a young woman trying to find who she is, even when she thinks she already knows.  Her struggle is identifiable and something we all struggle with from time to time: learning more about who we are. 

And just when I thought I had the story figured out, Gould through in a twist that I didn't see coming.  It definitely kept me wondering if I didn't have it wrong all along.  However, in the end, the story came out well, and this book kept me turning the pages.
