This Deluxe Edition includes a hard cover version of the Adventure Bible Storybook as well as two CD's that slide into a sturdy cardboard folder. Both come packaged in a hard storage case.
This Adventure Bible Storybook contains most of the most loved and known classical passages of the Bible in a story format. So if you're looking for a Bible that holds closer to the text, this isn't it. There are liberties taken and details added. However, the stories are well-told and beautifully illustrated. This Bible Storybook contains over 50 stories, including excerpts from Psalms and Proverbs, a rarity in children's bibles. The CD's follow along with different voices for the characters as well as music/effects to enhance the story. They were a selling point for me as my kids can follow along, even when they can't read every word.
Each story also includes an "Adventure Discovery" with a few additional story details. With some of them, there's also a Biblical reference for learning more. "Words to Treasure" can be found with each story as well, highlighting a verse to memorize.
While I'd hoped the stories would have more closely followed the Biblical text, overall this was a good addition to our library and a good introduction to the Adventure Bible series.
