Chunky Double Chocolate Cookies

These are the perfect cookie for snuggling up on the couch and watching a movie on a wintry afternoon.  From our kitchen to yours, Enjoy!

Chunky Double Chocolate Cookies

2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs 4 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled slightly
12 oz white chocolate, chopped (or chips)
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in medium bowl.  Beat brown sugar, butter, and vanilla in a large bowl until fluffy.  Add eggs; beat until blended.  Beat in melted chocolate.  Gradually add flour mixture, beating well.  Stir in white chocolate and nuts.

3. Drop dough by heaping tablespoonfuls, 2 in apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.  Bake 11-12 min.  Cook for 1 min on cookie sheet.  Move to wire rack and finish cooling.  Makes about 3 dozen.
