Flip-Flop Swap

Hey gang,

Can you believe summer's just around the corner?  We just had Easter and there's still a chill in the air.  But I know it won't be long before it starts to warm up around here and we'll be sporting flip-flops and painted toes.  It's already May in my part of the country and we are dreaming of shorts and sunscreen.

How about some fun?  Are you ready for a Flip-Flop Swap?  I've been thinking there's nothing like a new pair of flip-flops to get me ready for summer and what better way to make new bloggy friends in the process.

So how does it work?  Would you like to receive a new pair of flip-flops delivered to your door?  Would you like to meet a new bloggy friend?  Would you like to share something fun about where you live?  What if you could do all of the above right here at Creative2xmom?

Ok, here's what you have to do...

1. Send me an email including your full address, blog address, email, and flip-flop size.  Email me by May 10th!  Before you sign up, please carefully consider whether you have the time and resources to fulfill your swap.  Limited to the first 20 participants.  Sorry, no international swappers.

2. On May 11th, you'll receive an email from me with your FFS partner's information.  Be sure to check your partner's blog, learn more about them, and reach out to say hi.

3. Mail your partner's package by May 25th.  Also include a postcard in your package that explains a little bit about where you live and what makes it unique.  Don't spend more than $10 on your package.

4. Blog about the flip-flops you receive and link up on June 8th.  Show us a creative shot of your new footwear.

Made by Me Monday

So ... how was everyone's weekend?  It's been a couple of weeks since we did Made by Me Monday so I need to catch up on what everyone's been up to.  How have your last two weeks been?  Did you have a good holiday and spring break?

Last week, we spent a few days of spring break at my mom's then came back and spent the weekend here at home.  Between Easter and a cousin's birthday this weekend, my kids have spent a ton of time with family lately.  And we've made lots of good memories.  Plus take WAY TOO MANY photos.  When they're this cute, you just can't help it.

And they had a great time playing with cousins.  

So here we start a new week and see the end of spring break.  It's going to be an interesting adjustment for poor Lydia.  After a week and a half of having her brother at home, she might be a little lonely.  We'll have to plan some girl time.  Here's a peek of what our week looks like:

Spring seems like the perfect time to throw this Japanese Tea Party (@ Kara's Party Ideas).  I may have to steal this idea soon.  Stay tuned.

Speaking of spring, what mama wouldn't love this Garden Tea Baby Shower (@ ReMarkable Home)?  So many creative ideas to inspire.

Any girlie girl would love this Pinkalicious Party (@ How Does She) and a pink buffet too.  Adaptable for all ages.

Both of my kids would love this Baking Party (@ One Charming Party).  Great for a birthday party or just an extra fun sleepover.

And for the Cowboy/ girl in your life, don't forget the Cowboy and Cowgirl Party (@ Kami Buchanan Custom Designs).  Lot of great ideas there.

Royal Wedding Gift Guide for Dummies

While I'm pressing my dress and sprucing up my hat, I realize that I have yet to purchase a wedding gift for the most celebrated wedding of the century.  In case you've haven't heard, Prince William is finally going to make Kate Middleton his wife.  Although I'm not sure how you couldn't know about it.  I've been at my mom's this week and all TLC is showing is re-runs of the same five shows on the Royal Family.  Blah, blah, blah... Sorry William and Kate, but there's only so much I can take.  How would you like to see re-runs of my family played over and over and over again?  Boring!

Anyways... I do still need to pick up a gift.  Just in case anyone else finds themselves in the same predicament, here's a quick list of the hottest wedding gifts for the happy couple:

1. Fancy hat collection--Kate will be expected to keep up with the fashion sense of future mother-in-law, Camilla Parker Bowles.  A replica of this hat will go a long way in getting her started.

2. Royal family tree--Have you seen this guest list?  Who can keep them all straight?  That's one crazy looking family tree.  Kate's certainly going to need a cheat sheet.

3. Driver glasses--Who can forget the horrific crash that took Princess Diana's (William's mother) life?  One of the cited causes for the crash was the relentless paparazzi.  For this young couple, let's all chip in and buy their driver a new pair of sunglasses.  Heck, we can scrap together enough for glasses for William and Kate as well.

4. Disposable camera--Because we know there's just won't be enough photos of this wedding.

5. Royal Fruit Sparklers--Originally dubbed 4th of July Fruit Sparklers, these are sure to be the hit of the buffet line.  The entire royal palace will be raving about them.

6. Princess Paper Dolls--Kate definitely needs a set of these Paper Dolls (@ Living Locurto).  This way she can relive her wedding day over and over again.

7. Umbrellas--That's a lovely coach, but with rain in the forecast, I'd suggest a pair of these.

8. A copy of Enchanted, Princess Diaries, Cinderella, etc--After all it's not everyday a commoner becomes a princess.

9. A bottle of Tylenol--With Prince Harry throwing the bachelor party, William is sure to need a few for his early morning ceremony.

10. Vaseline-- With that procession through London, both William and Kate will need a little Vaseline on their teeth to keep them smiling.  Ouch.  My face hurts just thinking about it.

So if you've already done your shopping, good for you.  But if you're having a hard time finding the perfect gift for the royal wedding, hope you find this list helpful.  I'm off to go hat shopping!
